Cousin Greg Was Almost Gay on 'Succession'
READ TIME: 1 MIN.
"Succession" writer Georgia Pritchett went public for her thoughts on Cousin Greg, played by Nicholas Braun on the hit HBO Max series.
In a recent chat on theHomo Sapienspodcast, Pritchett discussed the evolution of the character. "It's interesting how characters take on a life of their own," Pritchett said. "I had sort of advocated for Greg to be gay – until last season he hadn't really done anything with anyone."
But, as Variety notes, "Greg (Nicholas Braun) has shot glances at Comfry (Dasha Nekrasova) and attempted to flirt with her in his own awkward Greg way, but hasn't made a move. Kendall (Jeremy Strong) and Tom (Matthew Macfadyen) both said she's out of Greg's league, but in the seventh episode, titled "Too Much Birthday," he finally musters up the courage to ask her out, although there's a clear conflict of interest as Comfry may have to burn Greg to the Department of Justice as Kendall continues his battle against Waystar."
Pritchett said that the Roy children move "in a circle where I think anything goes".
"I don't think anyone's closeted or not gonna do what they want to do," she continued, before noting how Culkin's character in particular – Roman Roy, the youngest of Logan's bickering kids and potential successors – "feels a bit fluid and pan"
"I don't think he'd hold back if he fancied doing something," she continued. "He wouldn't hold back."
