'Drag Race' Judge Ross Mathews Marries Husband in Puerto Vallarta Ceremony

Ross Mathews and his husband celebrated a "destination wedding" in Mexico, with Drew Barrymore playing a special part in the occasion, People magazine reported.

The occasion took place "at Almar Resort in Puerto Vallarta" People noted, "the same place where the couple met two years ago."

They were back with a sizable wedding party in tow – 110 guests, including none other than Drew Barrymore as their flower girl.

Barrymore also played a role in helping the happy couple decide where their nuptials would take place.

"Because Mathews lives in Los Angeles and García in New York, the couple struggled to decide where to hold the ceremony," People relayed.

Mathews disclosed that the question of where had "caused me such anxiety.

That's when Barrymore stepped in with some sage advice, the "Drag Race" judge recounted.

"'Do it where you're supposed to do it, and the people who are supposed to be there will be there.' So we chose the place where we first met."

But Barrymore was still more instrumental in the wedding. Page Six recalled Mathews telling the outlet that Barrymore "changed my life when she asked me to join her show because it brought me to New York where Wellinthon lived."

Mathews added: "Our love story really got fast-tracked because I was here."

And even once the love connection was forged, "If it weren't for my relationship with Drew, I don't know that Welly and I would be getting married already," Mathews went on to say. "It might have taken some more time to figure out the logistics of it all."

One detail that sorted itself out quickly was Barrymore serving as flower girl.

"I was on 'The Drew Barrymore Show,'" Mathews, who often guests on the program, told People. "One day we were doing a story about weddings and she asked me, 'Are you going to have a flower girl at [your] wedding?' And I'm like, 'Why? You want the gig?'"

It was also on Barrymore's show that Mathews announced his betrothal to Wellinthon, Page Six detailed.

"About a year ago, I met somebody who just changed my life totally," Mathews said on the air in February of last year, before dropping the bombshell: "And you know how Beyoncé says, 'If you like it, then you shoulda put a ring on it?' Well, I did!"
