A fan asked Harry Styles for help coming out during a concert this past weekend, and the pop singer grabbed a Pride flag to honor the request, according to Variety.

The request came during a concert at Wembley Stadium on June 19. The fan "was holding up a sign that read: 'From Ono to Wembley: Help me come out.'"

"Happily obliging, Styles picked up the sign and a rainbow flag and did just that," the report detailed.

The moment was captured on video that was posted to Twitter, the New York Post recounted.

"In the clip, the 'Watermelon Sugar' singer can be seen holding up the superfan's sign for the audience as he asks the crowd, 'So, you'd like the people of Wembley to bring you out?'"

"After being met with jubilant cheers, Styles grabs a rainbow flag from the front of the stage and declares: 'When this flag goes above my head, you are officially out.'"

"I think that's how it works," Styles quipped. "When this flag goes over the head, you're officially gay, my boy."

UK newspaper The Independent recalled how Styles turned the moment into one of joyous anticipation.

Running back and forth across the stage, the singer teasingly lifted the flag and lowered it again. At one point, with the flag down low, he joked, "Nope, still straight." Then, choosing his moment, the pop star, who has long been supportive of the LGBTQ+ community, triumphantly hoisted the flag high to cheers from the audience.

Styles took the opportunity to wish the fan well as he jettisoned life in the closet.

"Congratulations," Styles said. You're a free man!"

The Independent noted that helping fans come out during his concerts is something of a tradition for Styles.

"Last November, the singer helped a shy fan come out as gay to her mother during a concert in Milwaukee."
