Watch: Out Actors Kiss on NYC Street as 'AHS' Begins Filming New Season
READ TIME: 3 MIN.
It was revealed Season 11 of Ryan Murphy'sFXanthology series"American Horror Story" is returning in the fall. According toDeadline: "The new season's title, casting and the official premiere date are still TBA. Previous frequent cast members have includedSarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Adina Porter, and Leslie Grossman, among others."
But it is two actors who are trending today as shooting for Season 11 began this week on the streets of Greenwich Village, reports the Daily Mail. "Production officially began on the 11th season of FX's American Horror Story in Manhattan's West Village on Monday as Isaac Powell and Charlie Carver were spotted kissing on the set."
Powell, a 27-year-old Grammy nominee, plays the character of Theo while Carver, the 34-year-old "Desperate Housewife" veteran plays the role of Adam, in Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk's horror anthology series.
"Season 11 is clearly set in the late seventies based on the costumes - and Isaac certainly showcased his chiseled chest, six-pack abs, and bulging biceps wearing a retro vest," adds the Daily Mail.
Also on set is comedienne Sandra Bernhard, a Ryan Murphy veteran from "American Horror Story" and the ongoing role of Nurse Judy Kubrakon "Pose," who was filmed carrying a bag of groceries past a fruit and vegetable stand. "Sandra will likely be playing the psychic reader that Theo and Adam visit as she was also filmed emerging from the cellar business." She was last seen on "American Horror Story" on Season 8, "Apocalypse," when she played the Satanic cult leader Hannah.
Isaac played Troy Lord/Theo in four episodes of "American Horror Story: Double Feature" last year. While Carver's Murphy connection came when he played Huck Finnigan, an orderly turned head nurse at Lucia State Hospital, in Netflix's 2020 series "Ratched."
Carver came out as gay in 2016 on Instagram. He has a twin brother, Max, who is also an actor.
Powell came out as gay at the age of 16. He made his Broadway debut as Daniel in the Tony-winning revival of "Once on This Island" in 2017. He played Tony in Ivo van Hove's revival of "West Side Story" in 2019.
Rumor has it that the 11th season will take place in and around the Midtown Manhattan disco club Studio 54, which had its hey-day from 1977-1980. According to the Twitter feed AHS Zone, filming for the upcoming episodes began on June 14 in New York. (Fire Island has been rumored to be this season's location.) This marks the first time the program is traveling to New York.
Earlier this year FX Chairman John Landgraf told TheWrap that the season will not resemble last year's "Double Feature," which broke the season into two stories. "What I can tell you is that the concept for Season 11 is one story," Landgraf said. "It actually takes place in different timelines but it's one subject, one story, with a beginning, middle and an end, like many of the prior stories."
"According toIMDb- season 11 premieres October 17 and the first three episode titles are 'Something's Coming,' 'Thank You For Your Service,' and 'Smoke Signals.'"
In addition to Carver and Powell, the 11th season ensemble reportedly includes Patti LuPone, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Joe Mantello, Lee Aaron Rosen, Rebecca Dayan, Nico Greetham, and Russell Tovey.
But don't expect series regular Sarah Paulson to return. "Paulson recently said that she hopes to seeanother actress take her placein the franchise, at least for a while," writes Digital Spy.
"Let someone else scream and run and cry for a second," she said. "Other people can do that too! Also, my nervous system. There was a time when I was younger when I was like: 'I can do this all night. I love it!' Now I'm like: 'Momma's tired!'"
