Fans of the HBO Max series "Genera+ion" were disappointed when the streaming platform announced last September that there would be no Season 2 of the show. Now the series is disappearing from HBO Max altogether as HBO Max merges with Discovery+ and retires a number of titles from its service, Deadline reported.

The series is slated to vanish from the service this week, Deadline noted.

"As we work toward bringing our content catalogs together under one platform, we will be making changes to the content offering available on both HBO Max and Discovery+," a statement from HBO Max outlined, adding, "That will include the removal of some content from both platforms."

Fans took to Twitter to express their dismay at the news.

"this is so homophobic," one wrote, adding, "like be serious"

"homophobia is real" tweeted another fan, adding a well-known clip from the series.

A number of others repeated that sentiment, while others pitched in with their own responses:

In announcing that the show had been cancelled last September, HBO Max declared that it was "very proud" to have "faithfully and authentically represent[ed] LGBTQ youth with such a diverse group of characters and layered stories. We thank them and our wonderfully gifted cast for all their hard work and collaboration."

"'Genera+ion' followed a group of high school students in Orange County, California who navigate the world while exploring their sexuality, bumping up against family and friends in their conservative community," EDGE reported at the time.
