And the plot thickens when it comes to King Charles and Princess Diana legendary unhappy marriage. In an upcoming biography written by Christopher Andersen titled "The King: The Life of Charles III," he shares that rocky marriage was so volatile that royal protection officers were afraid someone would get hurt, reported Page Six.

"One of Charles' valets remembers seeing Diana 'hurling epithets and mocking her husband's obsession with the dreary-looking Camilla," Andersen writes.

When Charles was questioned by Diana over their lack of a sex life, he sarcastically responded: "I don't know, dear. I think I might be gay."

Charles reportedly put the brakes on any semblance of affection or care in their marriage once Prince Harry was born in 1984. According to the book, a valet once watched Diana chase Charles from room to room mocking him.

During one heated row, Charles childishly demanded that he be given the respect "that he felt his position warranted," according to the book.

"'Do you know who I am?' he postured.

To which Diana answered that he was a 'f–king animal,'" writes Andersen. "You will never be King!" she reportedly shouted. "William will succeed your mother. I will see to that."

According to one bodyguard, the clashes were so bad that violence seemed "inevitable."

"Officers were concerned by the 'sheer firepower' contained within Highgrove's walls, which included shotguns, rifles, and pistols, according to the book," Page Six reports.

Andersen wrote that the "detectives in charge of protecting members of the royal family were deeply concerned that 'in the heat of anger,' any one of these could be used to commit suicide, homicide or both."
