HBO Cancels Queer Voguing Competition Show 'Legendary'

After three seasons, HBO Max has pulled the plug on its queer voguing competition series "Legendary," Deadline reported.
The reality show features groups of voguing houses led by a house mother. The teams compete in dance-offs against each other and are judged by a panel, including Leiomy Maldonado, Jameela Jamil, Law Roach and Megan Thee Stallion. MC Dashaun Wesley hosted the show.
"Legendary" debuted in May 2020 with its third and final season debuting in May 2022. The news of its cancelation comes not long after HBO announced it nixed another reality series, the dating show "FBoy Island."
Deadline said that the reality series "is a relatively expensive show for a streaming service that pulled out of original unscripted orders earlier this summer. At the time, the streamer noted that while it wasn't ordering any new unscripted originals, it would consider renewing existing shows but 'FBoy Island' and 'Legendary' are more expensive than the David Zaslav-run company would like to spend on unscripted shows."
"It's also a blow for diversity in unscripted programming as Legendary was one of the most inclusive reality shows on air and praised by GLAAD," Deadline added.
