Jojo Siwa and Avery Cyrus Break Up, Stay Friends

Out entertainer Jojo Siwa and TikTok celebrity Avery Cyrus have ended their romantic relationship after three months, though they still remain friends, UK newspaper the Daily Mail reported.
Cyrus, 22, "confirmed the news in a video shared Saturday that featured a clip of Siwa, 19, presenting her with a 'sorry for breaking up with you present,'" the Mail went on to add.
Responding to a fan's question, Cyrus explained, "We decided that we are better off as friends! We are both so young and still just trying to figure our stuff out."
In another post, Cyrus jokingly referred to being in her "healing era," but suggested that she was easily distracted when "a cute girl walks by."
@averycyrus Don't hmu I'm in my healing era. Unless ..... jk

As previously reported at EDGE, Siwa had announced the romance last September, posting that she was the "happiest girl" and sharing video of herself and Cyrus laughing and kissing in a photo booth.
That "video came a day after Cyrus, 22, shared a series of photos with Siwa on Instagram captioned: 'Bestest photo dump ever,' " the Mail noted at the time. "She also posted a video to her 7.9 million TikTok followers which showed her traveling all the way from Florida to Los Angeles to give Siwa a snuggle."
At that time, Siwa had recently broken up with Kylie Prew after having come out in 2021, shortly after Siwa came out as queer. That relationship, too, seemingly ended on good terms; Prew posted last summer that, "Everything's fine. Not everything has to be messy and gross because it's not, and I just want to clear the air."
Less amicable was the way Siwa recently said she was no longer speaking with actor and TV cable channel executive Candice Cameron Bure after Bure, the chief creative officer for Great American Family, told the Wall Street Journal that under her leadership the new channel would not feature same-sex couples in its holiday films the way the Hallmark Channel – Bure's previous employer – has begun doing.
Bure told the WSJ that her reason for leaving Hallmark was that the channel had undergone "a change of leadership," whereas "I knew that the people behind Great American Family were Christians that love the Lord and wanted to promote faith programming and good family entertainment".
Moreover, "My heart wants to tell stories that have more meaning and purpose and depth behind them," Bure offered the WSJ, though without explaining why same-sex relationships would lack those qualities.
Siwa spoke out against Bure's plans to ignore LGBTQ+ viewers and leave their families and their romantic hopes unrepresented. In an Instagram post, Siwa declared, "[H]onestly, I can't believe after everything that went down just a few months ago, that she would not only create a movie with [the] intention of excluding LGBTQIA+ [people], but then also talk about it in the press."
By mentioning "what went down a few months ago," Siwa was seemingly referring to the sensation she stirred up last July when, in a viral video, she flashed celebrity photos and put them in the categories of "rudest," "nicest," and her "crush," among others. Siwa showed a photo of Bure under the category of "rudest."
Siwa explained her position for not wanting to have further dialogue with Bure, telling People, "You not liking gay marriage, do your thing girl. You being religious, do your thing girl. Of course, I would want everybody to do what they want to do. But to purposely exclude someone because of who they love, that's shitty."
