Outsports has named figure skater Guillaume Cizeron its Male Athlete Of The Year, and it seems the honor could not have been bestowed upon a more deserving athlete.

With his ice dance partner Gabriella Papadakis, Cizeron had an incredible 2022 season, reported Outsports. The duo won every major competition they entered, including gold at the Winter Olympics.

In addition to all of the wins, Cizeron and Papadakis "set a world record with their score in the short program at the Olympics, setting themselves up for their big gold-medal skate," Outsports reports.

Asking, "What do I have to lose?" Cizeron came out two years ago, and it seems the act has emboldened him with the confidence he needs to win.

After winning the Olympic gold at the winter games, Cizeron wrote: was a dream come true, he also posted the morning after their big win thankful it wasn't actually a dream: "Woke up and it was still on my bedside table...it wasn't a dream!!" Somebody pinch him!

Previous Outsports Male Athlete of the Year winners include, Tom Daley and Lee Pearson (2021), strongman Rob Kearney (2020) and eight out gay college football players (2019).

As a duo, Cizeron and Papadakis have been French national champions every year since 2014. They didn't compete in 2021 to avoid risks over COVID.

This is the third time a figure skater has won Outsports' Male Athlete of the Year, and the winners seem to get cuter and cuter every year.
