Spend Christmas Eve with Joan Crawford
READ TIME: 1 MIN.
Who could be better to spend Christmas Eve with than Joan Crawford?
In 1949 Crawford appeared on "The George Fisher Show" on Christmas Eve. The creepy and funny broadcast can be heard below.
No doubt there are eerie resonances of "Mommie Dearest," the 1981 film in which Faye Dunaway's Kabuki performance of the actress became an instant classic. The film tells of her unhappy relationship with her adopted daughter Christina and her younger brother Christopher (also adopted) and her other siblings are barely mentioned.According to Christina Crawford's Wikipedia page, "Christina was one of five children adopted by Joan. Her siblings were Christopher, adopted in 1943, and twin girls Catherine (Cathy) and Cynthia (Cindy) – adopted in 1947. In 1942, another boy, who also had the name Christopher, had been adopted by Joan Crawford, but was reclaimed by his birth mother."
The film was adopted from Christina's infamous memoir and even includes a recreation of that Christmas Eve that seems drawn directly from the broadcast.
