12 Steamy Queer Music Videos to Heat Up Your Winter
Andrea Marks Joseph READ TIME: 5 MIN.
Whether you've been bundled up by the fireplace, or cozy in bed back home with the family pets, we're guessing you could use a little extra heating up right now. These music videos are certainly up to the task.
1. Cloudy June – "FU in My Head"
As you may have guessed from the song title, this is a song about sexual fantasies. In the video, Cloudy June sits in a café with a man, when suddenly the lights go red and she is seen acting on some of the fantasies she's been having while sitting there; Then, suddenly they switch back to reality in the café again. Next, she's sitting at a bar with a woman and the same thing happens. The explicit lyrics are written as if she's speaking directly to them, which adds to the fiery nature. The "FU in My Head" video concludes with a striking "American Beauty" inspired rose petal scene, and demonstrations on both a banana and a grapefruit. No need to use your imagination, you can simply watch...
2. Devon Cole – "Hey Cowboy"
This colorful, playful video is inspired by cowboy fantasies. With lyrics like "Hey cowboy, if you're down to ride, you can keep your boots on if you like" we certainly know what the song's about. Queer songstress Devon Cole hosts a pool party for a group of queer men who are very much leaning into the cowboy-themed event. Her lyrics are filled with innuendo, while the celebratory vibe of the video is all fun and games. The light-hearted, sexy, inclusive music video is a joy to watch.
3. King Princess - "Too Bad / Curse"
King Princess plays her own love interest in the video for "Too Bad / Cursed", writhing on the pool table at a bar and touching herself before passing out and dreaming of herself. At the break between the two songs, she finds herself posing naked draped along the same pool table, then dances with her naked self all around the bar where her band was playing earlier in the night. The song is moody and introspective, but the way King Princess looks directly into the camera is pure seduction.
4. Mad Tsai - "stacy's brother
This song is a queer riff on a classic. The video has an almost impossible amount of hot people, from footballers to cheerleaders to Mad Tsai himself, filled with shirtless locker room scenes and longing looks between two men across a football field. "stacy's brother" has all the makings of a hit teen show we wish existed. There's a whole narrative at play here, culminating with the two guys hooking up in the music room and getting their sweet happily-ever-after in the end. This is the steamy queer missed communication romcom we deserve.
5. Snow Tha Product and Lauren Jauregui - "Piña"
Hot girls are doing their thing (being hot and talented) at the club in this music video. "Piña" is a very sexy song about women finding each other and having a great time together –and all the women in this video, whether they be dancing on the floor, caressing their bodies, or bringing their lips so close we're sure they're about to kiss, know how to convey the message. It's also just so much fun to watch women have an amazing night getting down and dirty (dancing) to a song at the club together!
6. Doechii ft SZA – "Persuasive"
Doechii bringing SZA onto this track and music video made an already sultry song even more sexy. There's something deeply queer about every dynamic shot, every vibrant outfit, every pose and movement and look that these artists give to the camera. They are absolutely seducing us throughout; both women embodying the lyric "She's so persuasive / How does it feel to be you?" so divinely.
7. Nakhane feat. Perfume Genius – "Do You Well"
The entire "Do You Well" video is two shirtless Black men getting sweaty together. It's tender, fierce, and sensual from the very first second; The light bouncing off their glowing skin. There really isn't much more to say other than it's a captivating, masterful must-watch.
8. Anitta – "Gata"
Anitta is serving feline seduction in this video, and everyone's in exquisite black lingerie. The costume department created some of the most unique and intriguing looks for this video, where Anitta and her girls dance and slink and prowl around. The camerawork includes close-ups of Anitta's mouth, and of her butt in animal-print tights, as well as a brief flash of her unclasping her bra. The song itself should go down in the books of sapphic pop history.
9. Saucy Santana – "Booty"
This instantly iconic video for the song titled "Booty" rightfully shows more booty shaking than anything else. It opens with Saucy Santana rocking a red lip, red heels, and teeny tiny denim shorts. There's lots of playful innuendo, but the best part about this joyous, flirty video is that it shows people with a diverse range of bodies having the time of their life shaking ass for the fun of it! That's what life is about!
10. Joesef – "Just Come Home with Me Tonight"
This mellow song has a soothing beat that you can sway to in a candlelit bedroom. The magic of "Just Come Home With Me Tonight" is the way this video captures all the small, seductive moments we experience on a night out in the lead up to taking someone home. The sensuality of lighting a cigarette for someone else, and the heated moment when they bring the cigarette up to their lips, eventually passing it to you to do the same; Neck kisses in close quarters, neon lights creating mystical shadows, the thrilling joy of walking home together knowing what's about to happen. It's all utterly cinematic, and a joy to watch two men get the romance treatment here, particularly because it's shot so beautifully.
11.Joshua Bassett - "Smoke Slow
We can't get enough of the will-they-won't-they tension of Joshua Bassett spending all night at a party charming someone else's girlfriend. The song's about them smoking together, but the video has them dancing and playing guitar, eyes lighting up and laughing like they're the only two people in the room –sometimes because they are. The chemistry between the two of them is palpable, and did we mention that the person she arrives at the party with is "Love Victor" star Michael Cimino?
12. Fletcher – "Becky's So Hot"
Fletcher and Bella Thorne making out on a moving motorbike. Need we say more? The answer is no, but we will. This video opens with a shot that follows Fletcher's hands down her body and into her underwear, implying that this whole music video is a sapphic masturbatory fantasy. The song was the height of lesbian drama, as its lyrics ("Ooh she's the one I should hate, but I wanna know how she tastes" among them) are written about Fletcher's real-life ex moving on with someone so hot that the pop star totally understood the attraction.
