Gay adult film actor Shawn Wolfe - whose legal name was Shawn Paul Bertrand - has tragically passed away at the age of 35 following a drug overdose, his mother said on social media.
Australian newspaper the Star Observer reported that according to a Facebook post by Valerie Wellner, the actor died on Dec. 27.
"You left us today," Wellner wrote in the post, which featured several photos of Bertrand. "We are broken and devastated."
"We will love you Forever and ever," the post added. "I love you my Son. Peace".
Wellner followed up with a Dec. 30 Facebook post in which she said Bertrand had been "a light in this world and now he is now a light in Heaven."
Reiterating that Bertrand had died of an overdose, Wellner added, "He was at someone's home whom we don't know where that was or who he was with. This is not a message of blame."
"Shawn was also staying at Bailey Bouchee house shelter" - a Seattle health care facility - "and we have retrieved what belongings that were there," Wellner went on to add.
"Please help us find his belongings 🙏" the post went on to say. "No questions asked. Just help us bring him home."
The plea from the actor's mother did not go unheeded; Wellner returned to Facebook on Jan. 2 with an update that said Bertrand's family were "grateful that we will be able to retrieve some of his personal items."
"You have no idea how much that means to his family. We so appreciate your support and prayers."
Queerty recalled that "The blond, bearded, muscular, versatile performer debuted in 2009 under the pseudonym Drew in a solo scene for the Sean Cody label. Throughout his film career, he went on to star in various scenes for the Falcon, Hot House, and Raging Stallion adult studios."
"Raging Stallion awarded him its 'Man of the Year' honor in 2013," Queerty added.
Others in the industry expressed their grief, Queerty noted, with director Chi Chi LaRue posting at Facebook, "Another wonderful human being gone too soon," while another adult film actor, David Benjamin, took to Twitter to say that Bertrand "was a dear soul, his death is just tragic. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. May he rest in peace."
The last post Bertrand made on social media was a photo of himself posing in front of a Christmas tree ablaze with lights, reports noted.
