Watch: Dave Bautista Discusses Covering Tattoo after 'Extreme Homophobe' Manny Pacquiao's Remarks

Retired WWE wrestler-turned-actor Dave Bautista revealed which tattoo he blotted out thanks to the remarks of a onetime friend who showed his true colors as an "extreme homophobe."
Bautista, the son of a lesbian mother, told GQ in a video posted by the publication that he had a new tattoo placed over one associated with Manny Pacquiao, Next Shark reported.
Bautista, who stars in the upcoming M. Night Shyamalan film "Knock at the Cabin," did not utter Pacquiao's name, reports said, but he made it clear that he would not brook the kind of smears that Pacquiao hurled in 2016, when he told a Filipino TV station that LGBTQ+ people were "worse than animals..." Though he later apologized for that comparison, Pacquiao clung to the claim that same-sex couples should be denied marriage rights.
Bautista explained that the old tattoo had been "a team logo," and backgrounded: "I was part of a team of a person I considered a friend and someone I really looked up to. And then, he later came out publicly with some anti-gay statements and turned out to be an extreme homophobe."
"Images of Bautista prior to the cover-up show a flaming meteor on his left forearm, which matches Pacquiao's own left forearm tattoo," Next Shark detailed. "The meteor is a known symbol of the Filipino boxer, who used to feature the image on his Nike merchandise prior to being dropped by the fashion brand."
Saying he "had a huge issue with" Pacquiao's words, Bautista added: "It's a personal issue with me, my mom's a lesbian. And I just could no longer call him a friend.
"So, I had it covered up with this," the "Glass Onion" ensemble member went on to say, showing off the newer tattoo, which People Magazine said was "of a woman with a sugar skull face painting."
People Magazine recalled that the 6'4" giant was even more direct at the time of Pacquiao's comments, calling Pacquiao a "fucking idiot" and vowing to TMZ, "if anyone called my mother an animal, I'd stick my foot in his ass."
"You can't come back from that," Bautista said of Pacquiao's hateful rhetoric. "There's no coming back from that."
