Steve Duffy READ TIME: 8 MIN.

Centaur Motorcycle Club's Mid-Atlantic Leather Weekend is an annual festival weekend that attracts thousands of leather men, kinksters, fetish-lovers and curious spectators from all over the world to Washington, D.C. over MLK weekend. This year's festivities begin Thursday, Jan. 12, and run through Sunday, Jan. 15. Once again, the KINETIC team of local DC party producers - Zach Renovátes, Dougie Meyer, and Jesus Quispe (Q) - have partnered with MAL to produce KINK: four official events headlined by eight of the world's leading festival DJs. Bootcamp, UNCUT XL, discoVERS XL and the weekend's main event, KINETIC: KINK, will take place at various venues throughout Washington, D.C. Tickets for all KINETIC events are available now at this link.

"With the monumental news that the senate has passed the same-sex marriage bill, we are celebrating freedom at this year's KINETIC: KINK," says Jesus Quispe.

"We have secured the city's best venues for our MAL Weekend parties," Zach Renovátes adds. "We welcome every person in the queer community to our KINETIC: KINK dance floors to unleash their wildest urges this holiday weekend."

KINETIC: KINK Weekend kicks off Thursday, Jan. 12 with the BOOTCAMP party at Soundcheck. Here, men will have their first opportunity to get geared up for the weekend as drill sergeant Diego Barros, one of OnlyFans top performers, readies all for the next three days of sinful debauchery. DJs Conner Curnick and J Warren will provide the basic training beats.

Friday night is UNCUT XL, where international superstar DJ Alex Acosta and DJ Onyx will man the decks at BLISS Nightclub, commandeering all three of its massive rooms. While the perpetual beats pound the dance floors, partiers will be able to cruise the labyrinth of extended play zones, unleashing their most intimate fantasies until the wee hours of the morning.

The weekend's main event, KINETIC: KINK, takes place Saturday night at Echostage, the prodigious venue recently voted the #1 Club in the United States. International Superstar DJs GSP and Ben Bakson headline. "RuPaul's Drag Race's "Alyssa Edwards will serve dominatrix lewks that whip the audience into submission. There will also be live kink acts and triple X performances.

EDGE: Tell us about KINETIC: KINK

Q: We are hosting a big weekend in Washington D.C., Jan. 12 to 16. Every year we celebrate Mid-Atlantic Leather Weekend that attracts over 10,000 people from all over the DC, Maryland, Virginia, and surrounding states to celebrate leather and fetish. Normally, its organized by the Cent, a motorcycle club, but this year we have partnered with them to produce the official dance parties for that weekend. Kinetic Kink is our main event. We will be hosting at Echostage. DJ Ben Bakson will be the DJ and Alyssa Edwards will do a wild fetish performance.

EDGE: What is your definition of leather?

Q: To explore your fantasies and for you to be sexually someone you want to be. I think it's to discover that alter ego and let your inhibitions go. For our weekend, you can be or do whatever you want. You will be able to discover different men, groups, and tribes. You will be able to interact with both the leather and fetish community and discover new things about yourself. This is the perfect weekend to be curious and try something new.

slug>EDGE: Each night of the weekend features a theme. Can you give us a little detail about each one?

Q: Each night is going to be different and definitely fun. Thursday night is our Bootcamp event. If you are into uniforms and wearing different type of gear this will be the night for you. I want to encourage the partygoers to dress up and explore their wild side. DJs Conner Curnick and J Warren will be supplying the party music and Onlyfans Diego Barros is the opening act with his wild dancing and hot body. If you follow him on Twitter or Onlyfans you why he is so famous.

Friday is the Uncut party. Uncut is my favorite because it is very leather, very fetish, and very sexual. So, Thursday is preparing you for Friday. If you met someone on Thursday, Friday will be a more private environment where there will be playrooms for you to explore.

The main event is on Saturday, KINETIC: KINK, and will be at Echostage. It was recently voted the #1 Club in the US. We have an amazing lineup:DJs GSP and Ben Bakson and
"RuPaul's Drag Race's"
Alyssa Edwards. She is the night's dominatrix. There will also be live kink acts and triple X performances.

EDGE: Great music is key to a successful event, and you have secured some amazing DJ's. What makes a great DJ for an event like this?

Q: What makes a great DJ, especially for an event like this, is knowing and understanding our community. The DJ needs to understanding the partygoers and know the type of genre of music they listen to. Every city is different. The types of music they play in New York, Miami, and Atlanta is going to be very different than what we are used to in DC. I can assure you that we have retained the best DJ's for this event and promise you it is going to be a great time.

EDGE: OnlyFans superstar Diego Barros is going to be performing.

Q: We're really excited because once we make the announcement, our Instagram DM has been full of questions. It's his first time in Washington, D.C., so we're really excited about having him join us. I don't want to say too much, but we have a lot of surprises in store for you. Diego is performing at the opening on Thursday, which I think will set the tone for the rest of the weekend. It is going to be a fun and wild time having him.

EDGE: Can you tell us about the live kink acts and triple X performances.

Q: Throughout the night of the main event there will be different type of fetish acts. There are going to be male performances and leather daddies getting their sexual desires fulfilled. There will be different sexual fetish acts that you have either read in a book or watched in porn. It will really be a great time.

EDGE: Are there any don'ts when attending?

Q: The biggest key here is respecting people's private space and making sure you have consent. Attendees are going to be wearing leather, jockstraps, and thongs. They will be pushing the envelope in every different way. Always be respectful to each other and also respectful to yourself, because no one likes a messy queen. Know your limits!

EDGE: Any upcoming events that you are particularly excited for?

Q: We're working very hard on our 2023 Pride event. It's also a big weekend for us. My favorite thing about our Pride event is that I'm able to see so many friends both locally and from around the country. Still a few years away, but I am very excited because we will be hosting DC World Pride in 2025.
