Log Cabin Republicans Choose Virulent Homophobe as Part of Their 'Outspoken Ambassadors'
READ TIME: 2 MIN.
The Log Cabin Republicans got one thing right when they picked Isabella Riley Moody as one of their "Outspoken Ambassadors." She is outspoken. Click here for the full list. The group describes them as "anti-left free-thinkers are ready to inform, inspire, and amuse as they join the only media outlet dedicated to pushing back against radical gender and alphabet nonsense." This year's group includes Brian Clowdus, Buck Angel, Arielle Scarcella, Sara Higdon, Clarkson Lawson, Hogatha Cysty, Grand Ole Evan, Conservative Ant (aka Anthony Rai), Dan-splaining, The Offensive Tranny (aka Marcus), and The Gay Republican (aka David).
But even by the LCR's skewed criteria, why is blatant homophobe Isabella Riley Moody on the list? "This funny, fierce, and fiery female is a modern conservative woman," the LCR describe her on their site. "She speaks out against those who demean and denigrate American values. While some of her previous accounts have been suspended and censored by Big Tech, she does not back down and still finds ways to have her voice heard."
Perhaps one of the reason her social media accounts have been suspended can be found in her use of offensive language. "Her stock in trade is saying outrage and reaping the social media hits it nets her," the Daily Kos points out in a report on her inclusion. And point out an example from her live stream show 'Moody with Isabella' in which she responds to an essay by Noah Berlasky. In the essay, Berlasky celebrated his bisexual, nonbinary wife; and his transgender daughter, but Moody wasn't having any of it.
"Hey faggot, are you being serious right now? You're going to say that our society is a homophobic dumpster fire? Our society literally puts faggots on a pedestal and worships them as God. The rainbow flag is everywhere. We love it. It's such B.S. to say that we're a homophobic society. I wish we were a homophobic society, and that's the goddamn truth!"
Her choice, the Daily Kos continues, "raises the question, why would a group – which claims it exists 'to reach out to mainstream gays and lesbians looking for a common-sense community ready to support one another, not pit one faction against another' – break bread with a person who lives for divisive factionalism? Who is also as far from the mainstream as you can get?"
The Daily Kos adds that "Moody is not just a homophobe. She is also anti-Semitic. In an interview with a white nationalist, she used the 'I'm just kidding' defense to 'excuse' her 'Heil Hitler' sign-off. (Note: she cannot even pronounce 'Heil')."
