Each year, after the Oscar nominations are announced, Mr. Man releases his highly anticipated list of "Oscar Nominudes" from the selected male Oscar nominations, as well as citing certain hotties in nominated films – basically a list of the best nude scenes these gents have graced us with this past year (slim) and throughout their careers.

For Mr. Man's list, click here.

Here at EDGE, we thought we would honor Mr. Man's awesome work, showcasing five of the site's yummy selections with a dose of our own awards, but then venture a bit further by highlighting a handful of hotties who may/should have been on the periphery of being nominated, but didn't quite make it – some queer, some queer-adjacent.

Hottest Male Acting Nominee

Austin Butler ('Elvis')

His embodiment of the King is the stuff of dedication, hard work and a touch of insanity, but it paid off – and he's now the front-runner. Besides the head-spinning hip gyrations, we get to see him sizzlingly sexy and shirtless in Baz Luhrmann's "Elvis." As Mr. Man points out, he also appears shirtless in the series "The Shannara Chronicles" and "The Carrie Diaries." Alas, no nudity... yet. Perhaps "Dune 2" will change that?

Most Loveable Male Acting Nominee

Paul Mescal ('Aftersun')

A surprise Oscar nomination (sans controversy, imagine!), Mescal is the best thing about the overrated "Aftersun," and we get to witness him lying naked, face down, as director Charlotte Wells allows the camera to lovingly caress his ass. Of course, anyone who has watched the Hulu series "Normal People" knows we see a lot more of Mescal – all of Mescal, actually – over and over, and we never tire of it... or of him. Mescal gave a different kind of intense performance in "God's Creatures," opposite Emily Watson, last year – a worthy film no one saw.

Most Previously Naked Male Acting Nominee:

Colin Farrell ('The Banshees of Inisherin')

While there was no call for Farrell to strip down in Martin McDonagh's brilliant dark comedy "The Banshees of Inisherin," those who have followed Farrell's eclectic career know that he's dropped trou in many films over the past two decades, beginning with his butt shot in "Tigerland" in 2000. Oliver Stone's underrated "Alexander" (all 700 versions) and Michael Mayer's touching "A Home at the End of the World," both in 2004, boast Farrell playing queer men and baring all in hot gay love scenes. He also appears nude in "Hart's War," "Triage," "Ask the Dust," "The North Water," and "The Killing of a Sacred Deer." Talk about uninhibited!

Most Adorable Male Acting Nominee

Barry Keoghan ('The Banshees of Inisherin')

And speaking of "Sacred Deer," Farrell's nominated costar, Barry Keoghan, has done his share of nudity in the past, most notably in Rebecca Daily's indie "Mammal," where, like Farrell, he goes full frontal. The strangely sexy Keoghan made an indelible impression in films like "Dunkirk" and "The Batman," and recently surprised pundits with a deserved BAFTA win.

Most Deserving of a Better Film Acting Nominee

Brendan Fraser ('The Whale')

The less said about "The Whale" the better (although it is inexplicably beloved by many), but before he put on his Oscar-baiting fat suit, Fraser had an early history of showing off his bum and bod, beginning with sharing shower and nude time with Matt Damon in "School Ties" in 1992, culminating in a naked fight. Fraser-flesh continued in "With Honors," "The Passion of Darkly Noon," and his buff turn in "George of the Jungle" (all rear nudity). In 2019, he showed off a more muscled ass in the DC series, "Doom Patrol." His best film and performance to date, Bill Condon's "Gods and Monsters" (1998), had him teasing Sir Ian McKellen, alas only shirtless.

Add to these real-life Oscar nominees are these who were not nominated, but well worth a mention:

The 'Loves Being Naked' Award

Ben Whishaw ('Women Talking')

There's obviously no nudity in Sarah Polley's "Women Talking" (nommed for Best Picture), but out actor Ben Whishaw did show off his whishaw as Keith Richards in the 2005 indie "Stoned." But it's his backside that has been showcased in a slew of movies/shows including, "This is Going to Hurt" and "London Spy" on the telly and "The Tempest," "Cloud Atlas," "Brideshead Revisited," and "Surge," on the big screen. Coming out of Sundance, Whishaw takes part in one of the most authentic gay sex scenes in recent memory in Ira Sach's "Passages," opposite the mesmerizing Franz Rogowski. I mean, it's so hot you'd think they weren't faking it. ...

The 'To Queer or Not to Queer' Award

Harris Dickinson ('Triangle of Sadness')

A queer favorite (who has never labeled himself), Harris Dickinson enticed viewers in the opening scenes of this year's surprise Best Picture nominee "Triangle of Sadness" by showing off his body, along with a bunch of other gorgeous male models. Dickinson is no stranger to nudity, playing queer and showing all in Eliza Hittman's "Beach Rats" and Steve McLean's "Postcards from London," and going butt-bare on the small screen in "Clique" and "Trust." He's soon to be seen in the UK indie "Scrappers."

The 'Finally Getting His Due' Award

Ben Aldridge ('Spoiler Alert')

He's been a perennial presence on the British stage and on TV for over a decade, but it was his role in "Fleabag" (fleetingly naked in a bathtub with Phoebe Waller-Bridge) that jumpstarted his international career. And now, with his poignant turn in "Spoiler Alert," as well as his role in thriller "Knock at the Cabin," openly gay thesp Ben Aldridge is on his way to superstardom. What most people may not know (including Mr. Man) is that Aldridge had an intense gay sex scene in the 2019 short film "Thrive" (part of the 2022 compilation "Boys on Film 22: Love to Love You"), where we get to see bits of his anatomy. Seek it out.

The 'Unjustly Overlooked' Award

Michael Ward ('Empire of Light')

Gorgeous Michael Ward bares his sexy buns in Sam Mendes' glorious love letter to his childhood, "Empire of Light." In the film he has a lovely romance with Olivia Colman. Both actors should have been in the awards conversation. Ward previously appeared in "Top Boy" and Steve McQueen's "Small Axe: Lovers Rock." Speaking about his "Empire" nude scene, he admitted to watching Jude Law in "The Talented Mr. Ripley" and said, "...if Jude Law can do it, I can do it..."

The 'Dorian Gray' Legend Award

Brad Pitt ('Babylon')

Proving he's still a sexy beast, Brad Pitt dove right into Damien Chazelle's epic portrait of Hollywood debauchery, "Babylon," as the wacky and wildly eccentric movie star Jack Conrad, a role that should have brought him another Oscar nomination. As far as nudity goes, Pitt seemed to enjoy showing off his ass early in his career in "Thelma and Louise," "Kalifornia," "Legends of the Fall," "The Favor," and "12 Monkeys" (for which he garnered an Oscar nomination). In the new millennium his muscle-toned butt was on display in "Troy" and, most recently, "Allied," opposite Marion Cotillard.

The 'Up and Coming' Award

Anton von Lucke ('All Quiet on the Western Front')

Twink newcomer Anton von Lucke has a blink-and-you-miss-him featured part in Edward Berger's celebrated Netflix epic, "All Quiet on the Western Front" (BAFTA winner for Best Picture), but has already made his mark in the astounding German film, "Great Freedom." In that gay-themed masterwork, von Lucke is fleetingly naked in the shower opposite Franz Rogowski and has a passionate love scene with him in a cold jail cell. The alluring actor previously appeared in the series "Babylon Berlin," as well as in François Ozon's "Frantz," where he portrayed the titular character.
