JoJo Siwa Realized She was Gay, Fell in Love, Suffered Heartbreak... All at Disney World

Out entertainer JoJo Siwa revealed that Disney World was a backdrop for realizing she was gay, falling in love, and even dealing with heartbreak. "I have grown a lot at Disney," the 19-year-old star told People Magazine.

Siwa mulled that "she makes 'the sweetest memories' every time she visits the Florida resort as she tried out the TRON Lightcycle / Run ride ahead of its April 4 opening at Magic Kingdom's Tomorrowland," People Mag said.

Saying she has "a lot of really fun memories here," – and "a lot of really hard memories," too – the teen sensation confided, "I fell in love for the first time at Disney World. I realized I was gay at Disney World. I went through stages of heartbreak at Disney World."

"There's been a lot in my personal life that Disney World has really attributed to."

It was only a little more than two years ago, in January, 2021, that Swia came out – and shortly afterwards, she unveiled news of her relationship with Kylie Prew, People Mag recalled. Siwa posted at the time about how Disney World played a part in that relationship.

"I was here for 14 days with a girl that was my really good friend and I realized that, 'Oh, I like her,'" Siwa told her fans. "And having all those feelings while just being in the most magical place in the world and the happiest place on Earth was so cool. We're not together anymore, but we did have some really fun, happy memories here."

For her part, Prew, a social media influencer, posted a photo of the happy time they shared.

Siwa also recounted how, during their time together at the world-famous destination, she and Prew were "walking around the park like my brother and his girlfriend because we thought it was funny. But really, we both just wanted to hold hands."

For young lovers of any orientation, perhaps Disney really is a Magic Kingdom.
