How Does Lukas Gage Stay in Shape?
READ TIME: 3 MIN.
Thus far, 2023 has been a great year for Lukas Gage. The 27-year old actor's career has been on the rise since he was shamed by a casting agent for his apartment while on a Zoom audition. He called the agent out, and quickly became a web meme.
But what made Gage an overnight star was his role on Season One of HBO's "The White Lotus," where he played the assistant to resort owner Murray Bartlett and was caught being rimmed in the show's most celebrated scene. He later made headlines when speaking to Andy Cohen about normalizing rimming.
Earlier this year he embraced another fetish – golden showers – on Netflix's "You," where he joined the cast for Season 3 playing a rich American expatriate who is a rival to the show's protagonist, Penn Badgley.
He also hinted about his sexuality when he was called out for playing LGBTQ+ roles when he tweeted: "u dont know my alphabet."
More recently, his film "Down Low" opened to great word of mouth at the South by Southwest Festival.
Vulture wrote that in the film "Gage plays Cameron, the chatty, gum-smacking chaos agent who unleashes pandemonium on the otherwise staid life of Zachary Quinto's Gary. Their elaborate attempt to dispose of [a] corpse involves an Ambien-addled neighbor (Judith Light), a crack vial they simply must smoke, a stolen Fabergé heirloom, and an ode to Nicole Kidman drowning herself at the end of 'The Hours'."
On his personal front, Gage was also seen in Mexico vacationing with hunky celebrity hairdresser and entrepreneur Chris Appleton.
How does Gage keep his boyish body? He shared his process with Men's Health recently. "At the moment, that means staying lean – and building his butt, which was mortifying for Gage to share in that scene on 'The White Lotus.' When portraying the narcissistic socialite Adam, Lady Pheobe's boyfriend in 'You,' that meant building a six-pack, even though the character probably would've maintained his appearance (which Gage describes as "snatched") in less-than healthy ways. Soon, he's heading to Canada to film for HBO's new superhero series, 'Dead Boy Detectives,' where he'll play villain, the Cat King, so he's sticking on the slender side."
"We're going for a long, lean summer body," says Gage. "We're trying to get shredded, but we're not trying to get too big."
To reach his goal, the "former chubby child" is working with trainer Zach Powell, and they shared their tips in a video (watch at this link). In the video, Gage shows his cardio workout, which Powell, who is no fan of running, mixes up with different elements, which include using battle ropes, flipping tires, sled pushes, knee tucks, and box jumping.
"You better bet the next time I'm showing my ass, it's gonna be plump," Gage told Men's Health.
