2023 Rewind: Out Weatherman Fired over Nude Photos Launches Weather Subscription

Watch Erick Adame answer questions regarding his losing his job over social media posts.

This piece is part of EDGE's 2023 Rewind series. We're reaching into our archives and sharing some of our favorite stories from the past year.

Fired, openly gay Emmy-nominated meteorologist Erick Adame is launching his own weather subscription service.

As reported by the New York Post, after being axed by Spectrum News NYI in September over leaked nude photos of him during live-stream Chaturbate session, Adame is attempting to take back his career.

He took to Twitter to announce that he is starting his very own weather subscription service, full of cute and quirky videos centering on weather that can be delivered directly to your inbox when you sign up for a subscription.

"Get an email with the detailed, yet fun, weather forecast the way only Erick Adame can," Adame, 39, tweeted Sunday. "I hope I can count on your support as I continue to do what I love to do!!"

The venture will cost subscribers $5 a month.

He added, "Soon you'll be able to see me, on camera, delivering you the forecast just like before, but this time, it's going directly to your email so you'll be able to catch up on the weather forecasts whenever it's convenient for you."

We didn't think weather was something you'd catch up on, but go on.

"You'll get an email every morning with a summary of the day's weather, a checklist on what you may need as you head out the door plus a few other fun weather things like pollen counts, hourly rain chances, weather facts, and of course, a weather video that gives you the forecasts the way only Eric Adame can," he explained.

Adame's subscription service will begin Wednesday at www.erickadameontv.com.

About his nude photos circulating the internet, Adame explained before that he does not apologize for being "sex positive."

"But I apologize because I am a role model," Adame said. "What it comes to is, as a news person, I live under different rules. I don't think that's fair, but I think that we do."

Will you be subscribing to Adame's forecast?
