After taking viewers on hilarious and surprising adventures in Hawaii and Italy, Season 3 of "The White Lotus" will touch down in Thailand, Variety revealed in an exclusive report.

Filming has yet to commence on the third installment of the wildly popular HBO series, and creator/writer/director Mike White is still deciding on locales, the entertainment outlet detailed, so any word on story or casting is months away, at least.

But White did offer a hint as to the upcoming season, Variety noted. "'The first season kind of highlighted money, and then the second season is sex,' White said in a clip pegged at the end of the Season 2 finale. 'I think the third season would be maybe a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality. It feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus.'"

Variety recalled that Seasons 1 and 2 were filmed at "Four Seasons resorts in Hawaii and Italy, respectively," and speculated that Season 3 might "take place at one of the luxury hotel giant's four properties in Thailand, which are located in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui and the Golden Triangle.

"Thailand's Four Seasons resorts are spread across the city, country, jungle and beach, giving White plenty of settings to play with, if he so chooses," the article noted.

But what recurring human factor might White have in mind, if any? Season 2 carried over a single character from the first batch of episodes: Hot mess Tanya, played with irresistible panache by Jennifer Coolidge, who snatched up an Emmy, A Golden Globe, and a SAG award for the role between her two seasons on the show.

It's unlikely that Tanya will be back yet again – though that all might depend on exactly what White has in mind with his theme of "Eastern religion and spirituality," in which the idea of reincarnation often plays a part – but Season 2 was stuffed with charismatic, handsome characters like Theo James' Cameron, Will sharpe's Ethan, Adam DiMarco's Albie, and the adorable, if corrupt, English boy-toy Jack, played by Leo Woodall, any of which viewers would welcome back into their living rooms.

Who would you like to see make a return visit to "The White Lotus?"
