Masked (and openly gay) country singer Orville Peck argued that his straight buddy Diplo – who recently talked about oral sex with a man – "should be allowed the freedom and the space to explore," People Magazine reported.

Diplo's comments, in which the music producer suggested that it's not necessarily gay for a man to be serviced by someone of the same gender but also admitted that he finds some guys hot, set fans' imaginations ablaze. Some of them set about shipping Diplo, 44, and Peck, 35, on social media, People Mag recalled.

Peck was unperturbed, standing up for his friend with the comment to People, "I will say that he is a very sweet guy and he's very open-minded, and I think he – just like any of us in the world – should be allowed the freedom and the space to explore whoever he is going to be or wants to be."

Added the South Africa-born country star: "And none of us need to police it or worry about it. He can have his own path and journey."

Diplo's made his intriguing comments last month when he appeared on the "High Low" podcast, telling host Emily Ratajkowski, "I don't want to define that I'm gay, but I think the best answer I have is I'm not not gay."

The musician went on to say: "There's a couple guys that I'd be like, 'I could date this guy... life partner-wise," even though, Diplo added, "I'm not really aroused by men that much, that I know about."
