A "Queer Eye" fan favorite is dead after ushering in a new era of the show.
As reported by CBS News, Tom Jackson was the first makeover participant on Netflix's "Queer Eye" reboot in 2018.
He won audiences over with his humble attitude, often referring to himself as "you can't fix ugly," and was changed for the better after the Fab Five gave him a confidence boost. That confidence resulting in Jackson reconciling with his ex-wife. And though they later separated, Jackson was changed for life.
"A highlight of Tom's life was being cast on the Netflix show, 'Queer Eye,'" an online obituary reads announcing his death. "He enjoyed the notoriety and shared his experience with whoever would listen."
Jackson reportedly passed away Mach 3 after battling a form of lymph node cancer. He lived in Kennesaw, Georgia, where the first season of "Queer Eye" was filmed and was retired. Jackson is survived by his daughter and two grandsons.
"In lieu of flowers, please watch season 1, episode 1 of Queer Eye on Netflix and tell others about it in honor of Tom," the obituary reads.
"Queer Eye's" official Instagram posted about Jackson's passing, saying: "It's with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to a member of our Queer Eye family. Rest in peace, Tom Jackson."
The post attracted well-wishes and condolences from fans, including Fab Five member Bobby Berk.
"RIP Tom. 😢 Having a Redneck Margarita in your honor," wrote Berk, referencing Jackson's drink of choice on the show.
"Queer Eye" is now in its six season on Netflix. The original show "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" aired on Bravo from 2003 to 2007.
Rest in paradise, Tom.
