Could the faux feud between Kelly Clarkson and Troye Sivan have run its course with Clarkson's on-air reassurances to the out Aussie pop star?
Clarkson addressed a fun flap that's been sizzling between the singers in a recent edition of "The Kelly Clarkson Show," according to Entertainment Weekly.
"So, I recently dropped a couple songs off my upcoming album 'Chemistry,' and I'm super excited about it," Clarkson recounted in the show's "What I'm Liking" segment, "but – this is my favorite thing to happen since I released it – apparently, Australian singer Troye Sivan thought I was calling him out in my song 'Mine.'"
As previously reported, the song's lyrics are "Sabotage, your choice of art? / Who the hell do you think you are?" But it's easy for the ear to get confused and hear "Troye Sivan" instead of "choice of art."
Sivan took to TikTok to wonder why his fellow singer seemingly had it in for him. "What did I do to upset Kelly Clarkson?" Sivan joked in his post.

"I died, you guys, when I saw that," Clarkson told her viewers. "I laughed so hard, alone in my house – belly laughed." Clarkson also shared a clip of herself singing the song, and yes, it did sound as if she were calling out Sivan.
"That's hands down, my favorite thing that's ever happened with releasing a song," Clarkson said. "I cannot not think of him when I sing this song now."
"To be clear, I did not say his name. I don't know why it sounds like that," Clarkson added, before introdcuing Sivan, who beamed in to the show via video.
"Sorry for the mixup," Clarkson told Sivan. "How did you find out? How did you hear that?"
"First of all, I'm sorry to be meeting this way, with like, a fight," Sivan said. "You know what I mean? Because I love you so much, and I have for so long."
Sivan explained that a friend texted him about the misheard lyric, wondering, "What did you do? How did you upset Kelly Clarkson?"
Sivan viewed the clip and, he said, "immediately, I had the same reaction; I was belly laughing, because it's so scary. You're so sincere when you sing it, as well, that I was like, 'Oh my god – what did I do?'"
After chatting about Sivan's upcoming projects – a new album and an HBO series called "The Idol," due to air in June – Clarkson told Sivan, "Thank you so much! It brought me so much joy. I promise we're cool – we're not in a fight."
