Someone call 911 because fans were not ready for the amount of twists and turns delivered in the season 4 finale of Fox's "9-1-1: Lone Star."

And after enduring loads of personal and professional drama all season long, T.K. Strand (Ronen Rubinstein) and Carlos Reyes (Rafael Silva) finally made it down the aisle and were pronounced husband and husband.

Speaking to Variety in a wide-ranging interview, Silva and Rubinstein delved into how the end of season 4 sets up new possibilities for the husbands in season 5. It will also be the season that the show jumps to ABC from Fox.

About the two-hour season 4 finale, Silva explained that his character goes through a lot, including finding out that his father is murdered. But he doesn't know who the killer is.

"Carlos does his best to cope with the nothingness that he has left. Not only the nothingness of his father, the physical presence, but no explanation, no leads as to who did this," said Silva. "It wasn't an accident. His father was purposefully murdered, purposefully taken away from him, taken away from his life."

As an actor, Silva said the storyline is meaty material.

"It's something you can play with, especially next season, it's fertile soil," he said. "Carlos is holding on to dear life so he doesn't lose himself. As a police officer, your purpose is to deescalate whatever is happening in front of you: solve the problem, identify the target, resolve. And I think as not only does his profession accentuate that in his personality, but his personality already has that."

About his character T.K.'s support of Carlos during that time, Rubinstein said T.K. "would probably die for Carlos." Is he hinting at a possible storyline?

"I know he would die for Carlos, because T.K. would die for anybody on the job, and we've seen that happen almost many times," he said. "At the core of T.K. he's a very selfless giving, very vulnerable, young man. And, of course, that will translate to Carlos, but it's heightened on such a tremendous level."

OK, T.K. and Carlos have officially become our new favorite TV husbands!
