Emell Adolphus READ TIME: 1 MIN.
Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey are star-crossed lovers in McCarthy-era Washington in the first trailer for Showtime's eight-episode limited series, "Fellow Travelers."
As reported by Deadline, the series was adapted from a novel a Thomas Mallon novel and is part-love story and part-political thriller.
Featuring Jelani Alladin ("The Walking Dead: World Beyond"), Allison Williams ("Get Out") and Noah J. Ricketts ("American Gods") in the main cast, Bomer and Bailey are at the center of a volatile romance. Bomer plays the charismatic Hawkins Fuller, devoid of emotions and entanglements in his lucrative political career behind-the-scenes, until he meets Tim Laughlin, an idealist and man of faith.
As Sen. Joseph McCarthy and prosecutor Roy Cohn declare a war on "subversives and sexual deviants," will their romance survive one of the darkest political periods in American history?
Created by Oscar-nominated writer Ron Nyswaner (
Philadelphia"), the series will premier on Paramount+ With Showtime this fall.
