Out Country Star Orville Peck Delays Concert Dates to Focus on Mental, Physical Health

Openly gay country singer Orville Peck sent out a social media message telling fans that the rest of his current tour will have to wait while he "replenishes" his mental and physical health.
Variety reports that the out star, 35, was only a couple of days into the latest leg of his "Bronco" tour, which recommenced on June 20, when he made the hard call to put his health first and delay ensuing dates.
"I am completely heartbroken as i share this news," Peck told fans in his June 22 post, "but I have made the incredibly difficult decision to postpone all my upcoming shows effective immediately."
Peck made his announcement "a day after performing a sold-out show at New York City's The Theater at Madison Square Garden," People Magazine noted.
Posting that he had "come to realize that my current mental and physical health won't allow me to bring you my best," Peck assured his fans that they "mean the absolute world to me and I am so incredibly thankful to every single person who has bought a ticket to come and see us play. Being on stage is my favorite thing in the world.
"But I have to take this time to replenish my mind and body so that I can come back stronger and healthier than before," the singer went on to add.
The tour's original schedule was grueling; People noted that Peck had been "scheduled to take the stage in Washington, Connecticut, on Thursday, before heading to Seattle to perform at a pride festival, and Denver to take part in Dusty Boots 2023". Variety added that "the 11-date run" was intended "to make stops in Columbus, Cleveland, Asbury Park, Indianapolis, Omaha, Kansas City, and more," before a final concert appearance in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on Aug. 11.
Fans and friends flocked to offer their support, "including Tish Cyrus, who shared several red heart emojis," People noted. "Dylan Mulvaney, meanwhile, wrote, 'We love you no matter what!!!' "
Other messages were in a similar vein. "Thank you for putting yourself first," one fan commented. "Not only is that an important message for your fans to understand, but it's so needed in the music industry."
"Bronco is one of my favorite albums ever and seeing you was going to be a highlight of the year. BUT, id rather this postponement than pushing yourself beyond your limits," another wrote.
Posted a third: "you got us through the pandemic– we are all here to help you get through THIS! We love you, support you and SEE YOU!! ❤️❤️❤️"
"The Bronco tour was first introduced as a string of concerts that took place last summer and continued earlier this spring," Variety recalled. "In between, Peck performed at the Coachella, Stagecoach and Boston Calling music festivals."
