2023 Rewind: What Happened When 'Fire Island' Stars Joel Kim Booster and Matt Rogers Attended a Wild Pines Party?

Joel Kim Booster and Matt Rogers drew upon their experiences visiting Fire Island for Booster's titular film about gay New Yorkers' exclusive resort. But one scene left out of the film would have likely pushed its rating to NC-17.
During an appearance on the Finding Fire Island podcast, Boomer and Rogers talked of attending a gay orgy with over 200 people at the New York hotspot.
"Finding Fire Island" is a docu-podcast series which brings to life how a sleepy, 19th century beach town became a modern day queer mecca for artists and the New York City theater community. On the fourth episode, entitled "Tea," Booster and his "Fire Island" co-stars Matt Rogers and Margaret Cho talked with writer, producer, and native New Yorker Jess Rothschild about the legendary parties in the uber-gay section The Pines.
In the podcast, Booster spoke of a sexy party he attended. "I've been to a 200-plus person orgy on the island, and there's nothing like watching a bunch of guys get railed as the sun is coming up over the ocean," he said, reports the Daily Mail.

"The amount of sex and sex acts that I've seen on that island in public, in front of an audience, is sort of wild,'" he continued.
"I don't know what it is about Fire Island that unlocks people's inhibitions a little bit."
But Rogers shared an unpleasant side-effect from his experience.
"There was also a time I ate *** on the beach and then got really sick," he confessed.
'So it's not a place you want to eat *** and get some sort of *** eating related disease on the beach,' Matt continued.
'It's so funny because you're like, 'Wow, I've never felt so alive,' and then I've never felt so dead."
He finished: "So yeah, I'm out there being a full gay man on that beach, and that comes with its maladies and successes."
