Fans of broody Irish babe Paul Mescal can now look forward to his next highly anticipated project. As reported by British GQ, Mescal's upcoming gay love story "All of Us Strangers" alongside Andrew Scott will hit theaters Dec. 22.
Directed by Andrew Haigh, the story follows a screenwriter who shares a chance encounter with another man that changes the rhythm of his life.
The synopsis describes characters Adam (Scott) and Harry (Mescal) as getting "closer" before Adam returns to his childhood home. "There, he finds that his long-dead parents, portrayed by Foy and Bell, are both very much alive, and looking the same age as the day they died over thirty years ago," said British GQ.
Haigh is an acclaimed queer filmmaker with previous features "Weekend," '45 Years," and "Lean on Pete," which is a loose adaptation of Taichi Yamada's award-winning novel 'Strangers." For "All of Us Strangers," Haigh has also added "Rocketman" actor Jamie Bell and "The Crown" alum Claire Foy to the fold.
The first still from the film show's Mescal sensually draped over Scott with pink and blue lighting only just illuminating their faces. It's hot, and we are here for it.
Of course, "All of Us Strangers" isn't the only highly anticipated Mescal project, as he will be famously starring in Ridley Scott's sequel to "Gladiator." However, that won't hit theaters until November 2024. Until then we have a steamy gay love affair to look forward to.
