As Rumors Fly about Divorce, Kim Kardashian Made Sure Chris Appleton and Lukas Gage had a Prenup

Sources differ about just why Chris Appleton filed for divorce in his short-lived marriage to Lukas Gage, reports Us Weekly. But one thing is for sure – there was a pre-nup. Kim Kardashian made sure of it.

"Lukas cheated on Chris and Chris found out over the weekend," a source exclusively tells Us Weekly. "That's the reason [Chris] filed." The source went on to say: "They were never in an open relationship."

But another source disputed that claim, "confirming to Us that Gage did not cheat on Appleton nor was there any infidelity. Per the second insider, the split has been amicable."

Appleton, 40, who is a hair stylist for Kardashian, filed for divorce from the Gage, 28, on Monday, November 13 citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, according to court documents obtained by Us.

Appleton also cited the day of the couple's separation was November 10, one day after the couple's wedding was featured on Hulu's "The Kardashians," which featured Kim officiating the wedding. The entrepreneur, whose latest project is her Skim lines, also gave both men marriage advice.

"Wait, you have to get a prenup," Us Weekly reports she told the hairstylist before quoting the song "Gold Digger" by her ex-husband Kanye West. "We want prenup, we want prenup."

As Appleton styled her haIr, Kardashian face-timed Gage. "Can I just give you one tip from a lawyer? Prenup," she told the actor, best-known for "The White Lotus.". "Just super general, I think I can maybe even write it for you guys."

Us confirmed the former couple had a postnuptial agreement, which was signed on May 3.

Cage went public this past week alone when he attended a screening of the upcoming season of FX's "Fargo" in Los Angeles.

"Gage – who plays the recurring character Lars Olmstead in the anthology series – appeared to be in high spirits for the cameras on the red carpet in a black zip-up top with matching black slacks and black leather boots." reports People.

"Appleton and Gage had a whirlwind romance, first sparking dating rumors in February when they traveled together and posted pictures of each other on social media. They made their relationship red carpet-official in early March and soon after, Appleton confirmed the two were a couple during an appearance on 'The Drew Barrymore Show,"writes People.
