Who are the Highest Searched Gay Adult Stars?

Pornhub, the Amazon of adult content, released its annual report of who and what is being watched on the site. The comprehensive report, which can be viewed at this link, breaks down viewership by many filters, including data from its NSFW gay channel, PornhubGay, most notably the most searched adult male performers.

What shouldn't be surprising is that most of the Top Ten have used social media to extend their viewership, with some all but ignoring the major adult male studios. Here is the top ten in descending order:

10. Dan Benson

Dan Benson came to fame as part of the Disney show "Wizards of Waverly Place" more than a decade ago. After the show ended its run, acting roles became scarce for the actor and he found a second career as a graphic designer. But more recently, Benson has found new-found fame with his OnlyFans Page. Rhyheim Shabazz (pronounced RY-heem shuh-BAZ) has been making videos and posting content in 2019. 26-year-old Reno Gold (who gets part of his name from his hometown of Reno, NV) started webcamming as a teenager before turning to making his old adult content. In the years since he has become one of the most successful adult male stars in the industry, purchasing a home, condos (managed by his mom), putting his niece and nephew through college, and giving generously to charities, such as raising $27,000 two years ago for the Elton John Aids Foundation. "I had been a stripper and escort from 18 to 23. I bought my first house in cash before OnlyFans ever existed! I was 21. OnlyFans changed my life. [I own] 16 in total, but 15 are condos and I have one house. They're all paid off," he told Pride.com. He attributes much of his success to his direct relationship with fans on social media. "I've never worked for a studio. I like working for myself," he explained to Attitude in 2021 "The most exciting thing when interacting with my fans is actually building that connection." 26-year old Tyler Wu is a professional figure skater as well as an adult content creator. He became involved in the industry in 2018 after completing his university studies. In a short time, he placed on Pornhub's Top Ten Gay Pornstars of the year. This year he places sixth. According to a YouTube profile from Admire Adam, "The Canadian social media celebrity began using social media to his advantage when he was younger, and his constancy in promoting his material on social media has helped him gain prominence. In addition to social media, Jake is an actor in the entertainment sector. With his short videos, Jakipz, and the popular Leg Day with Jakipz, his acting career exploded in 2018 and 2019." His Instagram account boasts some 1.5 million followers, whom he has left his followers in the dark about his sexual orientation, calling himself "just an oddball," neither gay or straight. He finished in the Top Ten without any connections to mainstream adult content creators; instead, he uses social media sites, such as OnlyFans to maintain his brand.

3. Cade Maddox

At the age of 36, Cade Maddox has been active in the adult male industry since 2016, working for for nearly every major gay studio, and some straight ones as well. (He describes himself as bisexual.) This past year has seen him win four major industry awards: Hottest Body (Grabby Awards America), Most Popular Gay Performer (Pornhub Awards), Favorite Porn Star Creator, and Favorite Cock (GAYVN Awards). "With an authentic Mississippi drawl, 6' 1" height, a smile that will make you faint, a handshake that could kill a small animal, and manners that you could bring home to mom, Cade Maddox checks off every box on the fantasy checklist – jock, porn star, husband, and bestie," reads his website profile. Over the years he's won some major industry awards, including the GayVN Fan Award: Favorite Twink 2020, Grabby Awards Hottest Twink 2022, and StraightUpGayPorn Awards Powerbottom of the Year 2022. Asked in an interview with the website Pride.com how he stays "A perfect twink," he responded: "I have no idea – um, genetics mainly, lots of shaving.
