Demi Lovato and boyfriend Jordan "Jutes" Lutes are cool for the long haul: The couple got engaged Saturday evening, Dec. 16, according to a rep for Lovato.
People magazine broke the news with an exclusive report on the upcoming nuptials, reporting that "Lutes, a 31-year-old songwriter who first met Lovato in January 2022 when they co-wrote her song 'Substance,' popped the question with a bespoke pear-shape diamond solitaire engagement ring created by N.Y.C. luxury jewelry boutique Material Good."
The ring was "massive," according to UK newspaper the Daily Mail, but it just the bling for something more: A "personal and intimate proposal," the magazine relayed.
The couple then met with family members at Craig's to mark the occasion with a celebration.
TMZ recalled that "Lutes worked extensively on Lovato's album 'Holy Fvck,' and they celebrated its release in grand style ... by going IG official!"
"Lovato and Lutes – who is known professionally as Jute$ – confirmed their status when they celebrated her 30th birthday in August 2022," Us Magazine detailed.
It's hardly a surprise that the two are headed to the altar, given the sweet nothings they have posted at social media. People recalled the affectionate birthday wished Lovato sent Lutes' way on Instagram last March.
"I've waited my whole life to find you and I can't wait to celebrate so many more birthdays together," the pop star posted, before adding, "and I'm so grateful to call you mine."
The pairing is rooted firmly in friendship, the magazine relayed, quoting Lovato's words during an appearance last summer on The Morning Mashup on Sirius XM: "We were friends for several months and then we decided to start dating," Lovato explained, "and well, after we told each other how we felt."
Lovato's also expressed her sentiments on CBS Mornings, saying, "I don't know what I'm going to write about on my next album because I'm so happy." She did hazard a guess, however, quipping that her next project would comprise "a bunch of sappy love songs – for sure."
Congratulations to Lovato and Lutes!
