Adam Lambert Heads Down Under to Judge 'The Voice Australia'

Adam Lambert will be headed below the equator to be a judge on "The Voice Australia," Just Jared reported.

The former "American Idol" contestant – who famously lost that competition in a controversial decision, but who has forged a globe-spanning career since then, including touring with Queen – "will serve on a judging panel alongside Leann Rimes, Kate Miller-Heidke and Guy Sebastian," Just Jared detailed. "The show is set to premiere later this year."

Added the writeup: "The new cast joins the show as Rita Ora, Jason Derulo and Jessica Mauboy step down."

Just Jared took note of the timing of the announcement, which barely trailed an Instagram post in which the 42-year-old singer let fans know that he has "lots of inspiring projects on the horizon- looking forward to sharing them with you."

"Feeling confident and so clear on my path," Lambert added. "Sometimes it takes YEARS to work certain things out and find your truest vibration. I'm grateful to know what I know, while continuing to learn from the incredible people around me."

"I have to humbly admit that I might be getting better with age!"

"The Voice Australia" isn't the only fabulous undertaking Lambert will be getting up to down under. As previously reported, the "Whataya Want from Me" singer will headline at this year's Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, which is set to run from Feb. 16 - March 3.
