Trans Actress Hunter Schafer of 'Euphoria' Arrested in Pro-Palestine Protest

Transgender actress Hunter Schafer of "Euphoria" fame was among more than 30 people arrested at a protest outside a taping of "Late Night With Seth Meyers" featuring President Joe Biden.

Deadline reported that Schafer, 25, was among protestors from "the Jewish Voice for Peace group" on Feb. 26.

Schafer "was issued a summons for trespassing, according to sources, after participating in the protest demanding a cease-fire in Israel's relentless bombardment of Gaza, which has been carried out in response to Hamas' Oct. 7 attack on the Jewish state," the New York Post reported.

"Photos from the event show her wearing a shirt that calls for an immediate ceasefire," Deadline relayed, "and a Reuters image sees her being escorted out of 30 Rock by an NYPD officer with her hands restrained behind her back."

"This is not the first time the actor made news for standing up for a social cause," noted the Hindustan Times. "For her activism against an anti-LGBT legislation HB2" – North Carolina's so-called "Bathroom Bill" barring transgender people from using the restroom corresponding to their gender identities, one of the first laws of its kind in the nation – "Teen Vogue listed Hunter on its 21 Under 21 list in 2017."

"In 2021, Time named her on its Next list of '100 emerging leaders who are shaping the future', with a tribute written by Euphoria co-star Zendaya," the writeup added.

Schafer "joined other protesters with the organization Jewish Voice for Peace as they sat in the lobby of 30 Rock holding banners reading 'Jews to Biden: Stop arming genocide' and 'Lasting cease-fire,' according to videos posted to social media," the Post detailed.

"No more weapons, no more war," the group reportedly chanted. "Cease-fire is what we're fighting for."

Another chant, the Post detailed, was, "Not in our name."
