RuPaul Talks About 'Fortified Compound' in New Interview

A feud worthy enough for a Ryan Murphy series seems to be brewing between RuPaul and Madonna.

In promotion of his new memoir, Mother Ru has been dishing on his upbringing and subsequent rise to fame. And a big part of that rise seems to have been in relation, or lack of relation, to Madonna.

RuPaul has already dished on the Queen of Pop's transactional nature. Now he has taken it a step further in a New Yorker profile, commenting that Madonna seems to be aging against the natural flow of things.

"And, when you're against the flow, it doesn't look right, it doesn't feel right. The energy around the Madonna thing–it feels weird, right?" said Ru, calling out Madonna for "chasing arena tours and grills in your teeth."

He added, "I'm not interested in appealing to eleven-to-twenty-five-year-olds, I'm just not. I can, on a bigger level, as a mother. As Mama Ru. It's a different relationship–I'm not trying to be them."

As if!

Ru also opened up about him building a compound in Wyoming with his husband, a place New Yorker described as a "fortified compound."

"Humans on this planet are in the cycle of destruction," Ru explained. "I am plotting a safety net."

He clarified, "I wouldn't call it a bunker," he said. "It's a lot of concrete and a lot of things. I keep thinking about these castles that I'm going to bed to."

Ru is one queen that definitely knows how to give an interview. And in typical drag fashion, he gave some advice.

"Don't take other people too serious," he advised. "If you have to, build a fucking compound somewhere, but stay ahead of their own self-destructive, ridiculous mentality."
