Watch: JoJo Siwa Teases Something 'Not Made for Children' is in the Works

JoJo Siwa grew up in the glare of fame; now the former child entertainer is grown up, and she is taking her work to a new, "not made for children" level that "may be disturbing or offensive."

A trio of posts on Siwa's Instagram spelled out the caution in unmistakeable language: "WARNING" the three side-by-side posts, which formed an image in three parts, said. "The following content is not made for children and and may be disturbing or offensive to some viewers."

"May contain sexual themes, violence, strong language, traumatic scenarios, and flashing light."

"Viewer discretion is advised."

The warning was spelled out over again in the posts, all of which Siwa captioned with: "Heads up."

Some fans seemed worried about what the mysterious messaging could mean.

"girl kids are still gonna watch this 🤣," one fan responded.

But others pointed out that Siwa is now a young woman and maturing as an artist.

"She basically letting y'all know she's no longer a child and she's not going to act like it anymore," one post said, "so if you don't want your kids (who followed her because she was a kid) to see her doing adult things this is your warning to unfollow...it's not that hard to read and understand 😂😂😂"

"She's almost 21. The era of catering to children is over," another posted. "Just like the rest of us, she's grown up and changed and evolved. She could've definitely stayed a children's artist has she wanted to but she doesn't want to and that shouldn't be a big deal and ridiculed."

"Parents if you start your crap after this just remember she warned you and you were welcome to go," someone else contributed, before adding: "To expect her to grow with your children is ridiculous and selfish. She's her own person first."

Another chimed in with: "she said im GROWN now y'all NO MORE MR NICE GUY 👿👿"

A subsequent post contained what looked to be a trailer of sorts, with scenes of Siwa in a pool, practicing choreography, and getting makeup applied.

Other posts showed close-ups of Siwa; one offered a time-lapse video of her in a chair as elaborate makeup was applied; another showed details of her hair being styled; yet another showed her in costume and makeup talking to a crew of dancers and then demonstrating a torso-gyrating dance move.

"It seems pretty obvious that it's a new album," one fan noted. "Some more grown up pop instead of the bubble gum pop that she's known for. I could be wrong but that seems the more obvious answer instead of the weird stuff some of ya'all are guessing. 🤦🏼‍♂️"

"Secret info in my bio," a caption in the latter posts read. The "secret info" was a link to a not-yet-active site - jojosiwa.com - where her name appeared in a stylized logo.

E! News reported that "the 'Boomerang' singer posted a handful of candid photos showing her rehearsing with dancers in a studio, with the caption on some of the snapshots forming a hint as to when she plans to drop this new project, all together creating the message, 'See you in one month.'"

In a video interview with E! News, Siwa confirmed a new album is on the way, explaining that, earlier in her career, she had seen a need for an entertainer who would target the pre-teen audience; "[W]ho's the next generation of kids gonna look to?" she recalled asking herself. "So, I kind of felt that was my duty to, like, fill that hole" - although, she went on to say, "my new stuff will not be for kids."

"You are getting what I've wanted to do for the last five years of my life," Siwa went on to add. "It's not a 'Boo-hoo, poor me' album. It is an ownership album. It is a fire moment and what goes around comes around."
