Gay Twitter Roundup: The Funniest Tweets, Reactions and Memes of the Week
Andrea Marks Joseph READ TIME: 2 MIN.
Whatever the state of the world, the health of the president, or climate change's inescapable impact on the planet, X (formerly Twitter) will always be there for us.
In fact, it often feels like the vibes level up when the rest of our lives are falling apart. With that in mind, we've rounded up some of our favorite tweets of this unfathomably eventful week, which we'll always remember either for what could have been, or what we lost in the impossible heat of this Chappell Roan and Brat-coded summer.
Before we dive in, let's all take a moment to wish bisexuality a happy birthday!
Gay Twitter's top tier reactions to this week's news includes realizing that a significant former Formula 1 driver coming out with the man he's dating smashes stereotypes, Joel Kim Booster queering Trump's statement by using it as thirst trap captions (icon behavior), righting history's wrongs by reminding the world of comedian Cole Escola's place in it, and revolutionizing the way we text about hanging out with friends.
Then of course, with the plot of the U.S. elections feeling like a Shondaland show right now, Twitter has had a lot to say –in true queer excellence, offering political commentary without even taking a break from declaring this a Brat summer and making everything about Chappell Roan.
But it is still a "Brat" summer, and in some sense it's our duty to continue dancing and laughing our way through it , and persevering in the important work of being horny online.
The world may be on fire, but we are still serving looks, tweeting about our unhinged coworkers, and bringing a very particular (Glee-centric) vibe to the function.
We'll end on this important note. RIP, Joe Diffie. Gone but absolutely never to be forgotten.
