Arrow - The Complete Sixth Season

JC Alvarez READ TIME: 3 MIN.

The road to redemption is paved in blood! Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) has proven himself many things, and over the course of the last five years as the vigilante archer known as the Green Arrow he's faced any number of formidable foes. On "Arrow" The Complete Sixth Season available now on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD, Oliver finds himself at an impasse. After a murderous vendetta orchestrated by an long-time enemy forces Oliver to choose between the life of his son or his closest friends, the Green Arrow's super heroics may have ended.

The explosion of the island that gave rise to his alter-ego also took the life of the mother of Oliver's son and put his sister Thea (Willa Holland) in a coma, but when the dust settles Oliver must make big changes and he starts by assuming the role of mayor of Star City. As he quickly learns, running a city and taking down the criminal underworld is bound to leave the Green Arrow vulnerable, and it isn't long before he and his allies find themselves in the crosshairs of a strategic mastermind. With now his son William to worry about, the risk is greater and Team Arrow may need a new leader.

This is the one that started it all, many attest that after "Arrow" premiered starring the dashingly rugged Stephen Amell as the DC Comics emerald archer, it opened the door for the superhero genre to blow-up the primetime landscape. Under the tutelage of comics fan and super TV producer Greg Berlanti the "Arrow-verse" has since indoctrinated an interwoven television universe that is proliferated with DC Comics characters come to life. The CW hit series are arguably doing better than their cinematic blockbuster counterparts.

The street-fighter origins and urban unrest of "Arrow" helps to root the world in a realism that is unlike its contemporaries like "The Flash" or "Supergirl" which rely on superpowers to elaborate their stories. The success of "Arrow" and its popularity is steeped in its rich characters which resonate with audiences because they are "real people" brought together under extraordinary circumstances to fight for justice! Oliver Queen's dual identity comparisons to one very familiar Caped Crusader perhaps have help to bolster his appeal, but we suspect his abs get "likes" too.

As it entered into its Sixth Season many viewers wondered if "Arrow" could keep up with the competition. If the last season's full-tilt crossover epic proved anything, the Green Arrow and team can hold their own against any crisis -- even one from Earth-X (a parallel world where the Nazis won the war)! In Season Six, Oliver and his team step up to new challenges and Oliver proves he can be a great father and husband, finally making an honest woman out of longtime beau Felicity (played by Emily Bett Rickards).

Viewers can binge all 23 Season Six episodes on the 4-disc Blu-ray, which also includes the 4-part epic crossover event "Crisis on Earth-X" and additional bonus features that reveal secrets from the show's narrative diving deeper into the backgrounds of the fan-favorite villain Deathstroke and the new season's "big bad." Additional special features bring home the cast's 2017 Comic-Con panel and a very special look at the machinations behind pulling off the biggest crossover event featuring appearances from "The Flash," "Supergirl" and "DC's Legends of Tomorrow."
