'Friends' to Stay on Netflix After All

READ TIME: 1 MIN.

After reports surfaced Monday that claimed Netflix slapped an expiration date on "Friends," the streaming service said the sitcom will still be there for you.

As previously reported, fans said they noticed that Netflix put an expiration date on the "Friends" information page. The comedy (starring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc) was said to vanish from Netflix on Jan. 1, 2019.

But in a statement, the company said that is not the case.

Ted Sarandos, Netflix's chief content officer, told NBC News "Friends" is "not leaving in January." He did not say, however, if and when the show will expire.

NBC News writes: "It is unclear how much longer the show will remain on Netflix, given that WarnerMedia, the content company now owned by AT&T that owns the rights to 'Friends,' is planning its own direct-to-consumer streaming service set to launch late next year."

So enjoy "Friends" while you still can!
