Report: Trump Already Planning Return to Reality TV After Presidency?
READ TIME: 2 MIN.
President Donald Trump is already making plans to jump back into reality TV after he leaves the White House, according to a report from The Daily Beast.
Sources told the publication that Trump has missed hosting his reality shows like "The Apprentice" and "The Celebrity Apprentice" and may jump back into it. The sources say that Trump and Mark Burnett, who has created a number of popular reality shows like "The Apprentice," still keep in contact since Trump became president in 2016.
The sources say that the two are still friends and have talked about getting back into business together, reportedly pitching each other's ideas on TV projects that would be filmed after Trump's reign as the 45th president of the United States.
One idea they've discussed, according to The Daily Beast, is a new version of "The Apprentice" possibly called "The Apprentice: White House," which would be produced shortly after Trump leaves the White House. Instead of being focused on business, this version of the reality show would be focused on politics and "take full advantage of Trump's status as a former president...and a newfound Republican kingmaker," the publication writes.
"There have been several discussions between Burnett and Trump about 'The Apprentice: White House,'" a person with knowledge of the situation told The Daily Beast. "It is something Burnett thinks could be a money-spinner and Trump is very keen on doing."
However, a spokesperson for Burnett told The Daily Beast that "the president and Mr. Burnett have not discussed making television shows in any shape or form." A White House spokesperson did not comment on the site's report.
