Ryan Murphy might have to change what he planned for "American Horror Story" Season 10 because of production shutdowns due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In a new interview with The Wrap, the show's co-creator said that his original idea for the FX anthology series would require the show to be filmed during the warm summer months. That it is currently unclear when production will begin, Murphy said he might need to reconfigure things.

"Well I don't know, because a lot of what I was going to shoot was dependent on a very specific moment, it was a weather-dependent show," Murphy said. "So now I don't know. I don't know what we're going to do. I don't know what I'm gonna do next with that show. I don't know if I'll accelerate another season or wait till next year to shoot this one."

Murphy's comments come after he announced the cast of the season: Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters are both returning after taking a break from the show last year and "AHS" mainstays, Kathy Bates, Finn Wittrock, Billie Lourd, Lily Rabe, Leslie Groassman, Angelica Ross and Adina Porter will all be back. Macauley Culkin is also starring on the show for the first time.

It was also recently reported that Murphy and the "AHS" team were scouting locations in the gay vacation hotspot Provincetown, Mass.

"You know, nobody so far has called me up and said, 'OK, we have a plan to move forward for shooting,'" Murphy told The Wrap. "So until that day, everybody is kind of on pause. I honestly don't know. But it's a great season and I know all the actors are chomping at the bit to get into it, so that's all I know."

"AHS" has been renewed through Season 13 at FX with Murphy recently announcing a spinoff of the show called "American Horror Stories." That show will stretch the anthology concept even further and contain one-hour stand alone episodes.
