Lavish historical costume drama "The Gilded Age," from "Downton Abbey" creator Julian Fellowes, will be back for Season 3 on HBO.
Variety reported that the series has been picked up once more mere days after the second season's finale, which aired just last Sunday, Dec. 17.
HBO's programming coordinator Francesca Orsi sang the show's praises in a release announcing the renewal, the entertainment magazine detailed.
"From the costumes to the production design and performances, the show has captivated so many week after week," Orsi noted. "Along with our partners at Universal Television, we are thrilled to continue this grand tale for a third season."
Saying that there's still "much more story to tell with 'The Gilded Age,'" Erin Underhill, the president of Universal Television, stated, "We're delighted that HBO is giving fans another season of Julian Fellowes' incredible storytelling.
"The cast and crew put so much of their heart and soul into the last two seasons, and we're so proud that all this hard work is paying off with another season," Underhill added, before teasing that fans "won't want to miss what's next!"
"The series chronicles the clash of old and new money – and old and new ways of living – in New York City in the late 1800s," The Hollywood Reporter thumbnailed in a report about the renewal.
