Watch: Showtime Debuts Trailer for George Michael Documentary

READ TIME: 1 MIN.

Showtime debuted the first trailer for an upcoming documentary about the late pop star George Michael.

"George Michael: Freedom" will follow the Wham! singer's career, specifically focus on the tumultuous time leading up and to and after the release of his second album "Listen Without Prejudice Vol.1," Billboard reports. Michael felt pressure to match his incredible success from his 1987 solo debut "Faith," which went diamond in the U.S. and earned him six top five hits on Billboard's Hot 100.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the case for the singer as his sophomore effort peaked at No. 2 on Billboard 200 and sold just over 2 million copies in the U.S. at the time.

Variety reports the doc will also chronicle his infamous High Court battle with his record label while also exploring the death of his partner, Anselmo Feleppa.

"George Michael: Freedom" was filmed before Michael's death in 2016 and is narrated by the pop star, who was heavily involved in making the film.

A number of stars are interviewed in the film, including the models who appeared in his "Freedom! '90" single Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, Tatjana Patitz, and Linda Evangelista. Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Ricky Gervais, Nile Rodgers, Mark Ronson, Tracey Emin, Liam Gallagher, Mary J. Blige, Jean Paul Gaultier, James Corden, and Tony Bennett are also interviewed.

"George Michael: Freedom" will premiere on Showtime on Oct. 21 at 9 p.m. Check out the trailer below.
