READ TIME: 1 MIN.
Lady Gaga is embarking on a new era...in a galaxy far, far away.
The pop icon is sharing her new single "Stupid Love," from her forthcoming as yet untitled sixth stupid album, and its accompanying sci-fi music video.
Gaga is returning to her pop and dance roots after her 2016 rock and country inspired album "Joanne." "Stupid Love" is produced by frequent collaborator BloodPop as well as Tchami and Max Martin, marking the first time Gaga has worked with the prolific producer who is known for dominating the pop charts in the 00s, crafting hits for Britney Spears, *NSYNC, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Kesha, Robyn, Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Christina Aguilera, Carley Rae Jepsen and many more.
The video was directed by Daniel Askill and follows a story about two space tribes fighting for control in a dystopian world.
"While the Spiritual ones pray and sleep for peace, the Kindness punks fight for Chromatica," text at the start of the vid reads. Some fans believe "Chromatics" will be the name of Gaga's album.
Gaga spoke about "Stupid Love" and her new album in an interview with Zane Lowe.
"This was very emotional for me making this album and I cried constantly and I was writing poetry constantly," she said. "I didn't question myself a whole lot. It was so real and so honest."
Lowe then asked Gaga about the direction of her new album, which fans have dubbed #LG6.
"We are definitely dancing," the pop star replied.
