Watch: 'Friday' Viral Star Rebecca Black Comes Out as Queer
READ TIME: 1 MIN.
Rebecca Black, best known for her 2011 viral hit "Friday," is coming out as queer.
Speaking on the "Dating Straight" podcast last week, Black, 22, opened up about her sexuality, revealing she recently broke up with a woman.
"I made a conscious decision to not, like, 'come out,'" she explained. "People started asking and I stopped not responding. I'm still in the process, it feels like."
She was then asked how she identifies and Black said she feels most comfortable with calling herself queer.
"Every day is different, it's something that over the past few years I've obviously been having a lot of conversations with myself about," Black said. "To me, the word 'queer' feels really nice. I have dated a lot of different types of people, and I just don't really know what the future holds. Some days, I feel a little more on the 'gay' side than others."
Nevertheless, Black went on to say she doesn't plan on dating anyone anytime soon.
"I don't really want to date right now, but even if I did, I have no choice," she said. "Unless I want to get on Raya and Skype date them? No."
