Whether striving for a more accepting climate through outreach and song or dazzling audiences with three-times-yearly full concert productions packed with music and dance, fun and friendship are core values for the Boston Gay Men's Chorus. (This writer should know: he's a tenor with the group.)

It's that fun and friendship--along with food--that will be on hand in abundance as the BGMC celebrates its first Drag Brunch at Club Caf, 209 Columbus Ave. in Boston, on Sunday, Oct. 3, with hostess Verna Turbulence overseeing the action.

"Come in drag or come as you are for an afternoon of fun to benefit the BGMC," the event's press release invites. "In addition to a delicious Club Caf brunch, you will enjoy a stage show with Verna and some of Boston's best drag entertainers, an exotic fashion walk with prizes, and live performances and comedy by BGMC members and friends."

The festivities commence at noon and last until 4:00 p.m. Event tickets cost $45, including the full buffet brunch. VIP tickets cost $55 and include seating in the Napoleon Room. Tickets can be purchased online or via phone at 617-542-7464. Any remaining tickets will also be sold at the door. All proceeds benefit the Boston Gay Men's Chorus.
