"Ruthless! The Musical" Returns for Extended Off-Bway Run

EDGE READ TIME: 2 MIN.

"Ruthless! The Musical," the award-winning Off-Broadway musical comedy (Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle) is back by popular demand after a record-breaking, sold-out nine performances to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

"Ruthless!" has come to be known as the Stage Mother of All Musicals and is back at Stage 72 at the Triad beginning on October 23 for an extended run.

This hilarious, always evolving show business tale of talented tykes, narcissistic parents, and ambition run riot, will return with a vengeance along with many exciting changes to the production. For instance, while the divine Sophia Anne Caruso is off to the Kennedy Center to perform in Susann Stroman's new musical, "Little Dancer," author, Joel Paley and sensational newcomer, Tori Murphy will be playing the demented 8-year-old diva, Tina Denmark.

Although the outrageous plot will have many surprises up its proverbial sleeve, one element that will not be changing is the appearance of the show's composer, Marvin Laird, at the baby grand and on stage as the infamous Sylvia St. Croix. Laird (long time Broadway and concert conductor for the fabulous Bernadette Peters) was such a revelation in the role, that he is coming back to reprise his unique and droll performance. Author and lyricist, Joel Paley will once again direct this intimate soiree production. Other cast members include, Kim Maresca as Judy Denmark, Katie Sparer as Miss Thorn/Emily Block, Delaney Arizala as Louise Lerman/Eve and Rita McKenzie as Lita Encore.

Stage 72 at the Triad is located at 158 W 72nd St, New York, NY

Tickets cost from $25 to $43. There is a two-drink minimum for all shows. To purchase tickets and view show times, here .
