Denver police recently arrested a woman for attacking a couple last month because they are gay, according to the Denver Sitrict Attorney Mitch Morrissey, the Denver Post reports.

Jhane Toney, 21, allegedly assaulted two women in the early hours of June 12 because of their sexual orientation, prosecutors said Tuesday. According to the victim, she was walking with her partner around 1:30 a.m. in a parking lot near West 10th Avenue and Broadway Street in Denver when they were allegedly attacked by a woman.

Toney was charged with two counts of bias-motivated crime, Denver's NBC-affiliate station 9 News reports. Toney is free on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court on August 17.
