After coming out as gay on "Good Morning America" Wednesday, "Bachelor" star Colton Underwood is responding to the reaction from fans, People Magazine reports.

In a statement to "GMA" Thursday, the reality star commented on the positive response he's received in the last 24 hours, saying, "The support and messages from everyone in my life (my old teammates, my friends, family, coaches and even my pastor) have meant the world to me."

Additionally, the TV show aired a new clip from Underwood's interview with Robin Roberts where he discusses being labeled.

"I have the most loving and supportive friends and family, but I also felt like I had a lot of pressure on me, growing up in the church and also in sports as an athlete, I was always chasing after a label. Because I wanted any label besides 'gay,'" he explained.

Several "Bachelor" alum congratulated Underwood, who is filming a Netflix reality show about being an out gay man, on his coming out but the news has divided Twitter.

Some have been critical, however, with many pointing out his past behavior towards his ex-girlfriend Cassie Randolph, who he met on Season 23 of "The Bachelor." In September last year, she filed a restraining order against Underwood, alleging he stalked her and put a tracking device in her car.
