Out "Dancing on Ice" judge John Barrowman, 54, will not be returning to the popular British program in the wake of allegations that he exposed himself on the sets of two British television shows.

ITV announced Barrowman's departure from the show, UK newspaper The Guardian reported.

As previously reported at EDGE, accounts surfaced earlier this year claiming that Barrowman had "exposed himself" while working on both "Doctor Who," in which he co-starred in 2005, and its spinoff, "Torchwood," in which he starred from 2006-2011. Barrowman played the bisexual character Captain Jack Harkness on both shows, and repeated the role on "Doctor Who" in guest spots last year and again this year.

The Guardian reported last spring that "numerous witnesses described the incidents as inappropriate pranks rather than anything amounting to sexually predatory behavior."

"ITV did not publicly link Barrowman's departure from the show to the exposure allegations, but the Sun, which first reported the move, said he was 'axed' over the claims," The Guardian noted, before detailing that Barrowman "has appeared as a judge on the celebrity skating competition since 2019."

Allegations of Barrowman's flashing surfaced "in May when co-star Noel Clarke was alleged to have sexually harassed and groped a string of women," The Sun reported.

"[Barrowman] was also said to have flashed in 2008 during a Radio 1 interview discussing his lewd pranks," The Sun article added. "He later apologized for going too far."

"They were different times, which is why I wouldn't do now what I did then," The Sun recalled Barrowman saying in his apology. "I've acknowledged that by the way my behavior has changed."

"This will be devastating for John," The Sun quoted an unnamed "insider" as saying of the news. "Landing the judging job on 'Dancing on Ice,' which is one of ITV's biggest entertainment shows, represented an incredible comeback for him. And he must have thought the allegations were consigned to the past until the Clarke scandal erupted in April."

Clarke "unwittingly put Barrowman's behavior in the spotlight when a video from 2014 from the American sci-fi convention called Chicago Tardis began circulating that features Clarke talking 'about how his fellow "Doctor Who" star Barrowman would often expose his penis and "slap" it on colleagues,'" EDGE reported, citing an earlier Guardian story.

"'Barrowman was there taking his dick out every five seconds,' Clarke says in the clip," the EDGE article added. "Turning to his 'Doctor Who' co-star Camille Coduri, he asks: 'Do you remember that time he put it on your shoulder in the makeup truck?' She responds: 'Yes, I do.'"

Barrowman "will still appear on upcoming special episodes of the ITV show 'All Star Musicals,'" The Guardian said.

"A spokesperson for ITV said: 'We thank John Barrowman for two brilliant years on the "Dancing on Ice" panel and are pleased to be working with him again as host of the forthcoming "All Star Musicals" specials,'" The Guardian added.
