10 Instagram Pics from Hot Daddy Matthew William Bishop

Timothy Rawles READ TIME: 12 MIN.

Much like "American Horror Story: New York City," in which he stars, Matthew William Bishop appears dark and intimidating. The actor has a dramatic presence. He stands at 6'1" and weighs 240 pounds. His arms are the size of thick beef flanks, and his chest is as wide as the grill of a semi-truck. Everything about him spells primal cut, but when he smiles all that menacing character melts away allowing the gentleness of his spirit to shine through.

Before he was discovered by producer Ryan Murphy, Bishop was a corporate bee, working as vice president at Edelman, a public relations firm in New York City, according to his website's biography. He didn't just pump up for Hollywood, the massive star was also a competitive body builder. He was cast in the role of Big Daddy in "AHS" after someone passed on his information to Murphy himself.

Bishop's biggest muscle might be his heart. As a philanthropist, he gives back to the community by giving to various LGBTQ causes. One of those is Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Whether or not he is now one of the many stars Murphy uses in his horror anthology series remains to be seen. The FX Network plans on the show for two more seasons, so it's definitely not off the table.

For now, you can keep up with this gentle giant on his Instagram page where he constantly uploads pictures and life updates. We have gone through and selected some of those posts for your enjoyment and to celebrate this real-life incredible hulk as he makes his way to superstardom.

The quickest way to Bishop's musclebound heart might be spending time with his dogs Enzo and Sky. This trio seems pretty happy playing in the sand at his SoHo beach house. In this photo Enzo seems pretty grateful to be off the hot sand and shows his appreciation with a kiss.

In this shot, Bishop is celebrating his friend Rodiney Santiago's birthday. The sunbaked duo seems right at home on the sand giving double daddy energy. Santiago is from Brazil and came to the states to pursue a modeling career. He is also a personal trainer and massage therapist with a focus on mental health.

Unfortunately, you can't drink seawater, but your thirst can definitely be quenched while looking at this picture of the hunky "AHS" star in his black swimsuit. Bishop looks like a Greek god in the snapshot. In fact, he captions it, "Poseidon emerging from the sea for a salmon tostada." Apparently, he is hungry for Mexican food with a specific ingredient. Suddenly we are all in the mood for protein.

This photo actually helped Ryan Murphy in his decision to cast Bishop in "AHS." Bishop would play Big Daddy, a foreboding serial killer stalking gay men in the Big Apple. Many have said his role is a metaphor for the AIDS crisis since the series is set in the 1980s. On a lighter note, Bishop's arms appear bigger than his head but it's perhaps his cautionary message that is even larger than that, "If it costs you peace, it's too expensive."

The price of fame is not the danger of losing your morals, it's losing hours of sleep. Here, Bishop takes a few moments to unwind in bed after having traveled from London, Miami, Sarasota, and New York. Commenters of this picture are quick to offer up their cuddling services for this tired titan in hopes that he doesn't get burned out. But we know their true intentions, to use that giant chest like a comfort pillow.

"Oh Captain, My Captain," is a poem by Walt Whitman. But unlike the gloom depicted in that story, Bishop is all smiles and gratitude as he salutes his adoring fans from the helm. This voyage is a cruise on the waters of Dubai, and we all would probably like to be under the watchful command of this captain and his "Love Boat."

Taking Bishop away from the beach doesn't mean he can't still be in the sand. With a few friends and a dune buggy, our heartthrob is taking his adventure off-road through the gritty terrain of Dubai. Just like Miranda, Carrie, Charlotte, and Samantha did in "Sex and the City 2," Bishop is exploring the desert of the Middle East. Hopefully, unlike those ladies, this quest didn't involve someone falling off a camel.

Camo shorts and sunglasses are the mood of the day in this snapshot. This photo really shows off Bishop's massive physique. And for most humans with regular thighs, the bottom of those shorts would probably fall to the knees, much like a lot of people would do if they saw this demi-god walking through their pool area.

If there were ever a live-action movie based on Tom of Finland artwork, Bishop would be perfectly cast for the role. Here, he explains that he is "off to LA for the week," and we can't help but wonder which commercial flight has that much arm room. Although the lens of the camera might be contributing to the illusion, his arms look like they need a seat of their own.

This perfectly draped towel is the envy of most people who liked this post. As one commenter said, "Papacito hermoso." That means "beautiful daddy" in Spanish. Bishop isn't modest about the hard work he has put into his body over the past few years, but he is leaving at least one thing to the imagination.
